Applied Risk & Resilience Labs

Mission

AR²L lowers the barrier to working on humanitarian challenges with remote sensing, GIS and machine learning by making learning and collaboration accessible to a wider community.

Our Labs

AR²L provides free learning resources, encourages new ideas, and offers mentorship through small teams, or labs. We study humanitarian risk & resilience across the four phases of an event: mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery. Labs may involve mapping, modeling, visualization or analysis using existing datasets. Further guidelines can be found here.

Whether you’re developing an idea, looking for feedback, or hoping to connect with others working on similar topics, AR²L's long-term aim is advanced learning through thoughtful collaboration on meaningful work.
